St. Lawrence County Public Transit (slcnypublictransit.com), operated by The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence, is hosting an Open House at the transportation building located at 6 Commerce Lane, Canton, N.Y. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 18th from 10:30 a.m. to Noon. This will be a rain or shine event that is open to the public. 

A presentation on plans for a future St. Lawrence County Transportation Center will occur every 30 minutes, along with tours of the current transportation building. Light refreshments will be served. People interested in learning more but unable to attend the Open House may email planning@stlawco.gov for more information.

SLC Public Transit is growing! Ridership was higher in the first quarter of 2025 than any quarter before. The 2025 monthly trip average is 19,383 trips and that is 46% more than in 2024. Since 2018, annual ridership on the system has increased by over 100,000 trips.

St. Lawrence County’s Public Transit System provides transportation throughout most towns in the County on Monday to Friday. Buses are wheelchair accessible, bicycle racks are available, and there is free Wi-Fi service on many routes. Riders may track their bus in real-time using the Passio Go! application on their mobile device.
