SLC PUBLIC TRANSIT WILL SEE DELAYS ON APRIL 8TH DURING SOLAR ECLIPSE

St. Lawrence County Public Transit (slcnypublictransit.com), operated by The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence, announced that they are anticipating travel delays on April 8th, due to the solar eclipse. For safety purposes, buses scheduled to be on the road during the eclipse will pause operations until after totality has ended. The routes impacted include: 22, 61, 62, 63, 65, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70A, 70B, 71, 73, and 74. Delays at all stops on the buses after 2:30 p.m. may be an hour or more, depending on tourist travel in the area.

SLC Public Transit launched the Passio GO! app so passengers may track the buses in real-time on not only April 8th, but every day. The mobile app is available now at this link https://qrco.de/bbOF84 or visit https://passiogo.com. This free smartphone app is available on Google Play or the App Store.

With this technology upgrade, St. Lawrence County bus riders may access information about individual routes, schedules, and stops. Riders have the choice to set-up notifications, arrival alerts, and tag favorite routes to reduce wait times at bus stops. Additional alerts for changes or delays serve to keep all riders informed.

“Knowing exactly where your bus is gives passengers the opportunity to plan better and spend less time waiting in the cold or rain,” said Sonja Jensen, St. Lawrence County Mobility Manager. “This is an exciting new feature that should make riding with St. Lawrence County Public Transit even more enjoyable.”

St. Lawrence County’s Public Transit System provides transportation throughout most towns in the County on Monday to Friday. Buses are wheelchair accessible, bicycle racks are available, and there is free Wi-Fi service on many routes. Passengers who are not within walking distance of a Transit stop may access Volunteer Transportation Center’s First Mile Last Mile service to get a ride to their nearest bus stop.
