St. Lawrence County Public Transit |
St. Lawrence County Public Transit (slcnypublictransit.com), operated by The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence, suspended service on Route #22 servicing Canton, Star Lake, Colton, Potsdam, Oswegatchie and Harrisville effective Monday, August 19, 2024.
The decision was made to suspend service based on difficulties staffing buses and historically low ridership on the route. Ridership on route #22 is the lowest of all fixed routes in the system, accounting for only 0.3% of all trips. Currently no date is set to resume service.
Riders affected by this change may reach out to First Mile Last Mile (FMLM) to request transportation assistance. FMLM is a connector service that provides riders a ride to their bus stop at no charge. FMLM asks all riders submit requests a minimum of 48 hours before the service is necessary, however FMLM is committed to providing service to riders affected by the Route #22 suspension. FMLM will make effort to provide last-minute rides, but the ability to provide service is dependent on the availability of volunteer drivers.
Passengers may access Volunteer Transportation Center’s First Mile Last Mile service by calling 315-644-6944 on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Schedules and additional information for riders can be found on the website at slcnypublictransit.com Find us on Facebook@SLCPublicTransit for additional information.
