St. Lawrence County Public Transit |
St. Lawrence County Public Transit (slcnypublictransit.com), operated by The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence, is holding a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the placement of a new solar powered bus shelter at the Hepburn Library in Madrid. The event will take place on Tuesday, June 25th at 2:00 p.m. This will be a rain or shine event.
Purchase of the bus shelter was made possible by the St. Lawrence County Health Initiative’s Creating Healthy Schools and Communities grant, a project funded by the New York State Department of Health and installed in partnership with the Town of Madrid Highway Department. The Transit routes that have stops at the new shelter include: 70a at 7:26 a.m., 70b at 8:26 a.m., 71 at 8:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
St. Lawrence County’s Public Transit System provides transportation throughout most towns in the County on Monday to Friday. Buses are wheelchair accessible, bicycle racks are available, and there is free Wi-Fi service on many routes.
Passengers who are not within walking distance of a Transit stop may access Volunteer Transportation Center’s First Mile Last Mile service by calling 315-644-6944 on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Find us on Facebook@SLCPublicTransit for additional information.
