St. Lawrence County Public Transit (slcnypublictransit.com), operated by The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence, is launching a Massena Shuttle run, route #70, on August 3, 2020. This bus route originates in Canton daily and will travel throughout the town with regular stops in Hogansburg from Monday to Friday with extra stops in Canton, Madrid, and Waddington three days a week.
The Arc Jefferson – St. Lawrence operates the public transportation for St. Lawrence County. Our fleet of nearly 20 vehicles travels over 1 million miles annually. Our buses are fully accessible, and anyone may ride.
First Mile Last Mile
Need a way to get to a Public Transit bus? Get in touch with the folks at the “First Mile Last Mile” program. It is free and easy, so just call 315-386-2600 and someone will help make all the arrangements. Don’t let the program’s name fool you because this services picks up and drops off people who live over a mile from the Public Transit stop.
- Obtain passes from any bus driver or at the Operations Center.
- Drivers cannot issue change. Exact fare is needed.
- Lost passes are NOT refundable, so keep them safe!
- Children under 3 ride for free.
St. Lawrence County Public Transit (slcnypublictransit.com), operated by The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence, announced that they will continue waiving fare collection until June 1st. Currently, customers must wear masks and may only travel for essential purposes until further notice.
St. Lawrence County Public Transit will continue waiving fare collection until June 1st for customers needing to travel for essential purposes. Routes in operation are listed at http://slcnypublictransit.com/transit-schedules. Due to Governor Cuomo's last Executive Order, all riders must wear a mask to use the bus. Unfortunately, anyone without a mask or using a covering that goes over the nose and mouth will not be allowed to use Public Transit.
St. Lawrence County Public Transit, operated by The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence, continues to be operational and is following cleaning guidelines from the Center for Disease Control. In an effort to minimize the risk of COVID-19, the agency will be waiving fare collection until at least Sunday, April 19th for customers needing to travel for essential purposes.
St. Lawrence County Public Transit, operated by The Arc Jefferson - St. Lawrence, launched the “College Connector” line open to students and the general public to travel among the following campuses: SUNY Canton, Clarkson University, and SUNY Potsdam. The route connects each college’s bus line via a hub at Walmart in Potsdam and runs seven days a week.
St. Lawrence County’s Coordinated Transportation Plan was prepared to identify cost-effective approaches to address public transportation gaps; minimize the duplication of transportation services; and help improve the coordination of transportation services for persons with disabilities, older residents, individuals with lower incomes, and for college students.
